Just a quick thought on one of the most powerful things a duelist has... Thats right!
The Side Deck:
A side deck can be used in so many ways,
for one you can Side 15 cards in that changes what deck you're playing completely!
This was most famously used by competitors at the 2007 Nationals by players including 3 of the top 8
where they would start a game in the tournament with Monarchs and side deck into Burn!
Meaning that the opponent would have used the other option of side decking(Will explain in a second) Meaing alot of cards which only work well against monarchs but not against burn giving them the edge in game 2.
The second use of side decking is to use cards that counter popular decks,
at the moment your side deck should include cards like this:
2 Effect Veiler (this stops monsters big and small,This card can stop them using brionac to bounce all your cards back to your hand,Dark Armed Dragon from destroying your field and Debris Dragon from reviving any monsters.)
2 D.D. Crow (alot of the popular decks need cards in the Graveyard so why not remove them!)
2 Gottoms' Emergency Call(X-Sabers)
2 Consecrated Light(This stops popular decks like Blackwing and Infernity from swarming the field with all their dark monsters!)
1-2 System Down(By paying 1000 life points you can remove from play all machine type monsters on your opponents side of the field and Graveyard from play!)
1-2 Dust Tornado(Thsi destroys as Spell/Trap card your opponent controls making this card great against:Burn,Gladiator Beasts and other Spell/Trap heavy decks)
Other popular Side Deck cards include:
Mirror Of Oaths:Stops Gravekeepers Spy,Super-Nimble Mega Hamster Engine and Gladiator Beasts!
One For One: Allows you at the cost of a monster to Special Summon cards like Consecrated Light etc...)
Prime Material Dragon(Stops decks like Burn and Gadgets from Burning you or using cards like "Smashing Ground" or "Fissure")
Thats all for now,but always remember if you lose the first game of the match the other 2 games are there for the taking if you use your side deck correctly.
Rio :)
